Am I eligible?

If you are a senior living within the area of   

Hope, Sunshine Valley and the Fraser   

Canyon you may be eligible. A program

representative will speak with you, assess

your needs and suggest services that

may be of interest to you.

How do I apply?

For Hope and area, contact Hope/Fraser Canyon Better at  Hope Care Transit

Society. In the Boston Bar area contact the Boston Bar/North Bend Enhancement Society, at 604 869 1831 to complete an application.


Who pays for Better at Home?

The Government of BC has given United

Way of the Lower Mainland funding to

manage Better at Home across BC. Hope

Care Transit Society and Boston

Bar/North Bend Enhancement Society will   

accept donations, raise funds and

encourage volunteer participation in the

program.

What is the cost?

Fees for Better at Home services are

determined on a sliding scale, according

to your income, and based on an ability to

pay. Some services may be free.

What Services does Better at Home

provide?

Better at Home services are non-medical

in nature. They are supplemental to existing services, for example those services

provided by community health workers, such as personal hygiene assistance and help

with medical needs or physical mobility.

Services shall be chosen from the

following basket:

   • transportation         • friendly  visiting

   • light yard work        • light housekeeping

   • grocery shopping   • minor home repairs

Please Note: you must take these forms into the Care Transit office so a staff person can review them with you.
